introducing fund-u bites
en-route to get your future funded
Hi lil bees! Long time no yap :)
I’ve been heads down for the last month, interviewing strangers about money on the streets of NYC & thinking about how financial education can be more effective.
Writing this piece inspired me to create a crash course in all things money. So if you’re feeling lost with money: you’re in the right place. I’m introducing a weekly series called fund-u bites, to help you get your future funded. Because this is knowledge every single person deserves to have to make informed financial decisions for themselves. Not their friends or parents or neighbors. You don’t need to rely on an opinionated and generic 60 second Tiktok video telling you that real estate is a bad investment.
Why me?
I’ve invested for 5 years now, in the stock market, real estate, and startups. I am no financial advisor, but I know a thing or two about personal finance.
I’ve researched and written about the psychology of money for the last 9 months (aka this newsletter)
I’ve read a lot of books on money, from different lenses, like Automatic Millionaire by David Bach, The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel, and The Soul of Money by Lynne Twist. Aka I’m not coming to you purely as a boring teacher, but will provide some context from the lens of psychology, anthropology, and history.
I’ve interviewed ~200 Gen-Z (founders, creatives, your next-door neighbor) to gauge their views on money, with the number only increasing 🙂
We’re gonna chat about:
The basics: WTF is money?
The psychology: What is your “vibe check” around money?
Tactical lessons: You got your first paycheck, what do you do with it?
Current events: What the current presidential administration means for your money
Deep-dives: How to begin investing in real estate, and is real estate actually a bad investment?
Where?
If you don’t like reading, you can find short-form content on Tiktok/Instagram at Money Whispers. Otherwise, long-form pieces can be found here at my newsletter.
Make sure to subscribe / follow to get your future funded.
Bonus: why am I really working on this?
This funnels into a larger platform I’m building, called Fund-U, a financial education & advising platform for Gen-Z.
Help me help you! This doesn’t exist without you folks, and I’m all ears on pain points you have in learning about money. Maybe it’s a feeling of overwhelm, or the fact that there is so much fragmented information, or a general disinterest in the topic of money.
I’m hellbent on figuring out how to ensure people feel good with their money, no matter how much is in their bank account. So in the spirit of rapidly iterating to see what works, here is V0 of a self-learning hub. I compiled a bunch of videos from different Youtube creators, based on relevant topics for basic financial literacy. This series by moi is V1! I hypothesize this will be better than V0 because:
There is consistency in tone & voice, since I’ll be the author of the course
This content provides a holistic lens for Gen-Z, about their relationship with money and how to handle their first paycheck. It won’t just be logical & boring lessons on money.
If this works well, I’ll update the Fund-U site to my crash course 🙂
Fill out the form below to let me know topics you want to learn about!
With 💛 & until the next 🐝,
Sneha
